Letterpress works are printed in Mitchell & Dent's studio in Leederville, Western Australia on a Chandler & Price platen press (affectionally dubbed Herbert).
Mesdames Mitchell and Dent wantonly abandoned the hoopla and hubbub of the modern world to embrace vintage printing, circa 1905. They believe the humble letterpressed piece of paper is universally acknowledged to be an effacious mode of delivering delightful discourse. From the most jaunty of jottings to the most ceremonial of celebratory invitations, Mitchell & Dent assert that the circulation of ephemera of note will prompt glee and giddy appreciation.
So too, those that hanker for homewares of a stylish nature, can be assured that handpressed artwork is utterly unique. The way the ink sinks into a premium paper, sourced from Europe or the Americas, is resultant in the most satisfying of textures.
Hurrah for the letterpress.
